The 2024 MSI tournament for League of Legends is currently underway.

I am a fan of T1 and I've been watching and cheering for them since the beginning of the Play-In stage.

I've been diligently watching every match, rooting for them every step of the way.

Just yesterday, T1 (T1) and TL (Team Liquid) had a

Bracket Stage lower bracket Round 2

match.

T1, who lost to BLG in the previous match,

now faced Team Liquid, the first seed from the North American League.

​

Team Liquid has several Korean players, including Impact, who used to be on T1 with Faker,

as well as CoreJJ, the support player.

It's a team with quite a few Korean players, actually.

In the first game, T1

banned Tristana, Nautilus, Lucian, Renata Glasc, and Rell,

focusing on the mid and bottom lanes.

Zeus picked Camille in the top lane, Oner picked Poppy in the jungle,

Faker picked Taliyah in the mid lane,

Gumayusi picked Senna (Solo Senna) in the bottom lane,

and Keria picked Ornn in the support role.

​

Team Liquid

banned Vayne, Twisted Fate, Ashe, Orianna, and Azir,

focusing their bans on the top and mid lanes.

​

Impact picked KSante in the top lane, Emt picked Xin Zhao in the jungle,

APA picked Aurelion Sol in the mid lane,

Yeon picked Kalista in the bottom lane,

and CoreJJ picked Alistar as support.

T1 easily won the first game,

continuously getting kills against APA's Aurelion Sol in the mid lane and gaining the lead.

Zeus's amazing Camille super play in the top lane,

Gumayusi's quick vision control play as Senna in the bottom lane,

all contributed to a fantastic victory.

The first game ended with a score of 1:0.

In the second game, Team Liquid

banned Azir, Orianna, Ashe, Twisted Fate, and Viego.

They picked KSante in the top lane, Lillia in the jungle, Taliyah in the mid lane,

Samira in the bottom lane, and Nautilus as support.

T1 banned Poppy, Sejuani, Senna, Tristana, and Lucian,

They picked Vayne in the top lane, Jarvan IV in the jungle, Ahri in the mid lane,

Varus in the bottom lane, and Kalista as support.

They went for a strong bottom lane.

The second game was a close match that lasted almost 45 minutes.

Team Liquid fought back several times,

and Samira managed to rack up a lot of kills,

However, T1 ultimately won with Vayne, Ahri, and Varus's super plays.

Personally, I felt both junglers made a few mistakes or missed opportunities in this game.

In the third game, Team Liquid

banned Azir, Orianna, Ashe, Twisted Fate, and Alistar.

They picked KSante in the top lane, Rek'Sai in the jungle, Taliyah in the mid lane,

Kalista in the bottom lane, and Nautilus as support.

T1 banned Poppy, Viego, Senna, Tristana, and Lucian.

They picked Vayne in the top lane, Sejuani in the jungle, Corki in the mid lane,

Varus in the bottom lane, and Rell as support.

Early on, they swapped lanes to counter Team Liquid's KSante, and seemed to be ahead.

However, thanks to Rek'Sai, Taliyah, and Kalista's strong play,

KSante was able to recover.

Team Liquid secured a perfect vision control and successfully fooled their opponents,

winning a teamfight with the Baron Nashor.

​

Corki and Rell got caught many times, and while Gumayusi's play shone throughout the game,

they were unfortunately outplayed and T1 lost.

To be honest, I, like many others, expected T1 to win 3:0.

However, Team Liquid showed their incredible strength.

​

T1's form and performance had been somewhat off since the previous game,

including their drafts, tier list preparation, and meta understanding.

I was so nervous and worried about the entire game, praying they wouldn't get a 5-game series. I watched the fourth game hoping it wouldn't go that far.

In the fourth game,

T1 banned Tristana, Lucian, Nautilus, Xin Zhao, and Viego.

They picked Vayne in the top lane, Poppy in the jungle, Orianna in the mid lane,

Senna in the bottom lane, and Ornn as support.

​

Team Liquid used their first two bans on Azir and Taliyah,

which allowed Faker to pick Orianna.

Finally, the return of Faker's Orianna!

​

Team Liquid banned Camille, Twisted Fate, Ashe, Taliyah, and Azir.

They picked KSante in the top lane, Lillia in the jungle, Syndra in the mid lane,

Kalista in the bottom lane, and Rell as support.

​

Syndra and Lillia are picks that APA enjoys playing, and I was a bit worried because they were picks they hadn't played much in this tournament.

The fourth game was like a rage mode T1, dominating from the start.

​

Faker's Orianna and Zeus's Vayne had amazing super plays,

they started to accumulate kills.

​

Gumayusi's Senna, Keria's Ornn, and Poppy's ultimate in the Baron play,

which killed three Team Liquid players with a single ultimate,

completely destroyed Team Liquid.

The game ended quickly at 23 minutes, with a score of 27:12.

​

The T1 vs. TL match ended with a 3:1 victory for T1.

Team Liquid unfortunately had to leave the tournament.

​

T1 will now face their rival, G2, again tomorrow!

​

G2 won 3:0 against TES a few days ago, the first time a Western team has won against a LPL team.

They're back in great form and it feels a bit scary, like a return to 2019.

​

I think we're going to see a lot of interesting picks, making for an exciting match!

I hope T1 wins, though! :)

And tonight at 6 PM,

Gen.G will be facing BLG.

I personally support Gen.G,

​

It would be fantastic if T1 can defeat BLG, the team they just faced,

and advance to the finals together with Gen.G!

​

It would be a story like last year's World Championship,

but I hope LCK can dominate MSI!
